Internship Mandate Research in Amsterdam

Within APG a Fiduciary department was set up in 2017. One of the teams within this department is Mandate Management. This team consists of Mandate (or Fiduciary) Managers and a team of Mandate Research.
The Mandate Managers are specialized in asset classes, Responsible Investing (RI) or a top down client portfolio focus. The Mandate Research team is responsible for supporting the Mandate Managers in the execution of their duties. Among other things this includes providing assistance with the development and realization of investment mandating advice through quantitative research in order to contribute to the successful realization of the clients investment and RI strategy.

Students can make a valuable contribution to the research agenda of the team in the form of a work internship. Assignments can range from assisting in developing (peer) benchmarking tools for the purpose of reviewing the performance of APG AM’s portfolio management teams to performing simulation studies that provide insight in setting return targets for client specific mandates.

This internship is a unique opportunity for an insider’s look into APG asset management and the world of Fiduciary Management and quantitative analysis for mandating decisions in particular. The Mandate Research team has a lot of experience in supervising students and trainees, and has strong academic ties. A market conform internship salary will be provided.

We are looking for a:

• Master student in a quantitative field with good grades (average of 7,5 Dutch system);
• Programming and data-handling skills (preferably experience with Matlab or R Studio);
• At least 4 months full-time (38hrs) available;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
