Function
In what way do environmental, social, and governance factors influence investment returns and risks? If you know the answer to this question than you are one step closer to becoming our new intern Responsible Investment at Aegon Asset Management. As an intern you will become a vital part of the Responsible Investment Team and your insight and knowledge will help the team to foster ESG integration. In your work you will support portfolio managers and analysts, as well as benchmark and practice ESG integration in fixed-income, green bonds, loans and ABS.

About the teamThe Responsible Investment Team within Aegon Asset Management is responsible for developing and implementing our Responsible Investment framework, which we established in 2010. The framework has become an integral component of how we conduct business and we believe helps us make better investment decisions. The framework revolves around three key areas; Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) integration, active ownership, and targeted investment. The Responsible Investment Team, based at Aegon’s headquarters in The Hague, oversees various aspects of the framework and facilitates implementation across Aegon business units.
Requirements
This internship position is open to university students majoring in Finance, Economics and Econometrics. Your profile should include the following characteristics:
- Knowledge of the financial industry;
- Passion for sustainability issues and quantitative modelling;
- Good attention to detail;
- Strong people skills;
- Basic skills in working with PowerPoint and Excel;
- Fluency in English
- Highly motivated
- A strong team player as well as able to work independently.
- Available for 6 months for 38 hours a week from June onwards.

You will gain vital hands on experience with the challenges and opportunities that are involved with integrating responsible investments within a large institution. Along with tailored guidance and the flexibility to explore your own interest in the area of responsible investment we strongly believe that there is no better opportunity. As an intern you will receive a compensation of €500 a month.
