Aegon Center for Longevity and Retirement
The Aegon Center for Longevity and Retirement (ACLR) is based in The Hague, the Netherlands and is part of Aegon’s Global Strategy & Sustainability department. The ACLR is a collaboration of experts assembled by Aegon with representation from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The Center’s mission is to conduct research, educate the public, and inform a global dialogue on trends, issues, and opportunities surrounding longevity, population aging, and retirement security.
 
At ACLR we carry out the annual Aegon Retirement Readiness Survey and produce yearly and themed reports. We work closely with experts from different disciplines to produce external and internal communication campaigns, organize workshops and events, as well as contribute to company business development initiatives. Lastly, we often present our thinking at aging and retirement – related conferences around the world.
 
Functie
The traditional view of retirement is changing. People increasingly see retirement as an active stage in their lives where they want to remain socially engaged and economically active. Our research has shown that one-in-ten workers see starting a business as one of their retirement aspirations. As an intern at ACLR you will be responsible for building a business case for a campaign around encouraging entrepreneurship among people aged 55 plus. This business case will be used to raise awareness regarding the contribution made by older entrepreneurs. Besides the business your tasks will involve:

• Supporting the team in identifying ways to use our retirement research to better connect with our customers,
• Assist in expanding an employee engagement campaign,
• Support the team in ongoing research and communications activities.

Profiel
For this function we are looking for a bachelor’s or a master’s student in business, marketing, entrepreneurship or similar discipline. Furthermore your profile should include the following characteristics:

• Basic understanding of (comparative) statistics and qualitative research methods,
• Knowledge of quantitative methods and statistical software such as SPSS,
• Fluent English and looking for experience in a global team,
• Achieving goals together gives you energy,
• You contribute to our team with your proactive attitude and creative mind,
• You don’t believe in ‘inside the box/outside the box thinking’ – as far as you’re concerned, there is no box.
