Data Analytics & Cloud Internship - Amsterdam

For this internship assignment you will join the ABN AMRO IT AWS Operations team. You will be working full cycle from collecting requirements to dashboard delivery. Moreover, you will face a number of operational challenges.

For that matter, we are looking for an intern that has affinity or related experience working in the analytics domain; ranging from visual analytics, process mining, understanding and creating data models, data querying languages, or creating dashboards.

We will provide you with the necessary training facilities, guidance for working with the data sources, tooling, and also provide you with an ever growing backlog of requirements to work with. Lastly but not least, we will also help you to navigate through the ABN AMRO organization.

Your activities will include:

• Providing insights on internal processes.
• Providing your vision on the activities of development teams on the platforms and developments costs.
• Leveraging the existing operational insight tools (Splunk/ServiceNow) to analyse process data (incident records, change information, call management), and platform data (CloudTrail logs, CloudWatch, incident records etc) as well.

• You are at least a last year HBO student.
• You can start in August/September preferably.
• You are available for 3 months minimum and up to 6 months.
• Your study covers Software Development, Business IT, Project Administration, Process management, or Information Science.
• You have affinity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Agile wizard: you know the “do’s and don’ts” of this way of working.
• Analytical mind: your analytical skills are well developed in order to deconstruct problems and rethink possible solutions.
• Team-player: you can easily reach and collaborate with colleagues, either helping them out or requesting some assistance.

Our Amazon Web Services Support & Processes team provides first line support to the hundreds of developers building applications on our platform. We are responsible for a number of operational processes such as incident management, security and compliance. Currently, the team consists of 3-4 onshore members and 6-7 India based offshore members. Is important to mention that we have a DevOps mentality where we develop and maintain the capabilities used to provide and monitor operations in the environment. Furthermore, our team works according to Scrum on a two-weekly cycle.

We believe that the months spent with us will provide you with valuable IT experience working in the field of  data analytics, and give you a hands on experience with highly marketable skills in the field of cloud (Amazon Web Services) and analytics (Splunk).
