To be less vulnerable for performance issues and less dependent on just a few carriers we are investigating the benefits of a dual sourcing strategy for the main European countries for inbound transport.
We therefore need information about:

• Benefits of a dual sourcing strategy in general
• Benefits of a dual sourcing strategy for DAF
• Actual (geographical) split of transports over several carriers
• Market research about Best in Class carriers for the European countries where DAF is responsible for pick-up of the goods.

Jouw profiel

For this assignment we are looking for a Bachelor or Master student Industrial Engineering,Business Administration,Supply Chain Engineering, Logistics en Transport. English language is a hard requirement and it is our preference if the report has to be written in English.

Afdeling

The Purchasing Non Product Related department consists of 17 employees and is responsible for the purchase of all goods and services, which are not directly incorporated in the final product. Within this department we make a distinction between various product groups such as; Logistics & Supply Chain Engineering, Marketing & Sales, IT, HR, Facility Services, Maintenance Repair Operations supplies (MRO) and Capital & Investment.
​The student assignment is within the Purchasing NPR Logistics Group which is responsible for purchasing all Transports and Logistic services for operations in Eindhoven, Leyland and Westerlo, dealer distribution and inbound transport for PACCAR Parts and transports of finished goods to our dealers or customers.
