WO/HBO internship:Security of IT systems in Eindhoven

With this project we are looking for an intern that wants to help DAF with the roll-out of the improved security requirement by helping with the coordination of the communication towards the DAF business partners. We are looking for someone that can help us with the following:

• Monitor business partner compatibility: analyze log data, track progress of business partners
• Business partner communication: perform the activities in the communication plan (letters, meetings, FAQ, support)
• Coordinate B2B DMS Test Procedure: help DMS suppliers with testing the compatibility of their DMS system.

Afdeling

PACCAR IT Europe is responsible for the development, support and management of information systems for the users in Europe of DAF Trucks, PACCAR Parts, PACCAR Financial and PacLease. We employ around 250 IT professionals within IT Europe.

IT Project Management Office is responsible for delivering the newest technology and solutions to the current IT landscape via projects. One of these projects is the “Global Portal Project”, which aims to move the current DAF ePortal landscape to the (PACCAR) Cloud. This is a massive operation which touches upon all important aspects; security, business continuity, (IT) infrastructure, compliance, etc.

One of the mentioned aspects is excellent security of IT systems. This becomes more crucial every day to safeguard business continuity and customer experience. Technology is expanding exponentially, and the skill sets of hackers are never far behind. Without proper encryption, data is no longer safe and customer service is at risk. The encryption protocols to access DAF systems, e.g. DAF ePortal, DAF interfaces used by Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and the diagnostics tools, are outdated and no longer secure enough. Therefore, DAF will disable legacy encryption protocols for all business partners. For every business partner the impact could be different. Form a bird’s-eye view, they need to ensure that their IT-infrastructure, DMS, web browser and diagnostics tool are compliant.
