HBO stage: Investigate impact of new truck type (NGD) on transport strategy, propose improvements and implement top 3 improvement ideas in Eindhoven

​In 2020 all suppliers and incoterms are investigated and the transport strategy (pick-up parts by ourselves or have the supplier deliver the parts to our factories) is optimized. In 2021 the New Generation DAF (NGD)-truck is presented; this has a major impact on our supply chain:

·       New suppliers are added
·       Volumes of current suppliers have changes (can be increased, can be decreased)
·       Some partnerships with suppliers have ended

NGD started with very low volumes in 2021, but now the volumes are increasing rapidly. This creates the need for an updated supplier / incoterm overview and a review of the transport strategy.
Deliverables student assignment:

·       Excel file with
o   Pick up addresses per supplier
o   Incoterm per pick up address
o   Loading meters per pick-up address per week
o   # transports per pick-up address per week

·       Tool how to define supply chain improvements
·       Top 10 with concrete improvement proposals to change the incoterms
·       Possible other concrete improvements for our supply chain
·       3 closed lean six sigma projects about a incoterm change or supply chain improvement

Afdeling

​The Purchasing Non Product Related department consists of 17 employees and is responsible for the purchase of all goods and services, which are not directly incorporated in the final product. Within this department we make a distinction between various product groups such as; Logistics & Supply Chain Engineering, Marketing & Sales, IT, HR, Facility Services, Maintenance Repair Operations supplies (MRO) and Capital & Investment.​
