The subject of this assignment relates to multiple departments within DAF. The main goal is to develop a data driven method to identify a detailed concept of the vehicle application (what is the truck’s behavior, what sort of trips does it make, how many stops does it make per day), and its impact on R&M repair costs. This will be achieved by combining data from multiple sources; DAF Connect, warranty & R&M claims, truck specifications and contract coverage.

In short, the following results are expected:

• Provide a clear definition of the concept of vehicle application
• Define inputs that improve the accuracy of the expected R&M costing
• Create consensus across multiple departments based on your findings
• Provide useful advise of how your results can be embedded in DAF business processes

​For this challenging assignment, we are looking for a candidate in the graduation semester of a HBO or University studies. You will get a lot of freedom in your assignment to provide us with results that improve our insights and financial results. You will be guided by an experienced mentor that supports you during your project.

Afdeling

The Costing & Analysis department provides data driven solutions for allocating R&M contract costs and support for other departments to achieve optimal customer satisfaction. Costing & Analysis translates new developments to the truck into financial results, customer expectations and design targets, for example the expected number of repairs to a truck and the desired frequency of maintenance. The quality of analyses and recommendations made at Costing & Analysis significantly impacts the success of other After Sales projects. DAF Commercial Services is the department where services linked to Total Cost of Ownership (TCoO) come together. Customers are looking for total transport solutions, so offering the right services is the opportunity for DAF to differentiate in the market. DAF Commercial Services is responsible for creation, delivery and sales of both existing and new Repair and Maintenance services. Our vision is to become the preferred partner for all DAF customers for all services linked to the DAF trucks, for which the customer is willing to pay a fee.
