The Corporate Finance department of Corporate & Institutional Clients consists of approximately 90 professionals and is based at the HQ of ABN AMRO in Amsterdam. You will become a member of the Real Estate team, covering a fast growing (inter)national client base, focusing your efforts on (listed) companies and financial investors active in real estate. The team services a large number of real estate clients in the Benelux, Germany, United Kingdom and the Nordics. We have a particularly strong track record in developing and supporting buy-and-build OpCo/PropCo strategies for (listed) clients and prospects. Together with our colleagues at ECM, DCM and (corporate) lending, ABN AMRO offers a unique approach and added value to its real estate clients. Backed by the new strategic focus of ABN AMRO towards real estate, we offer a fast growing, stimulating environment with an opportunity to originate and execute high profile transactions in the market and make a difference to our clients throughout Europe.
You are an essential senior member of the Real Estate Corporate Finance team being responsible for the origination and execution of deals. Working together with Client Coverage, ECM, DCM and (corporate) lending colleagues, you develop and maintain strong relationships with leading real estate companies, putting to work your sector and financial knowledge and your interpersonal skills. You will have direct exposure and be a (joint) sparring partner to CEOs, CFOs, Heads of Business Development and M&A.
To support our efforts, you will join us in monitoring and analysing Real Estate market and sector trends, the performance of companies within the sector and identify advisory opportunities such as mergers, acquisitions and disposals, (re)structurings, and capital raisings. As a Director, you take responsibility for identifying opportunities, securing mandates and executing transactions.
As a senior team member, you show active cooperation and contribution to ABN AMRO’s total product offering and the team’s business development activities.
You have a passion for, experience and a relevant network in the Real Estate industry, allowing you to identify sector trends and relevant advisory opportunities. You are a self-starter and able to originate ideas independently, as well as interact directly with clients. You have strong analytical skills, including financial analysis and modelling, combined with excellent process management skills. Being a passionate, hard-working professional, you have an eye for our clients' needs. You combine commercial drive with a joy in working together in (cross-functional) teams. You believe that by sharing knowledge you will contribute to the ABN AMRO’s ambitions in real estate. You are highly productive and have high quality standards. You work well under pressure, enjoy success and love celebrating team wins.
Do you think you are a fit?
• 7-10 years of experience within real estate M&A advisory and/or PE;
• Strong track record and network in the real estate sector in the Benelux and preferably also in Germany, the United Kingdom and/or Nordics;
• Proven client-centric skills and ability to grasp clients’ strategic goals and address their needs through ABN AMRO’s full product offering;
• Proficient financial analysis, valuation and modelling skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a team player able to manage a wide range of stakeholders.
• Able to identify and convert social and economic trends to opportunities
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken Dutch and English, and preferably one other European business language (German is an advantage).
