IT Architect in Amsterdam

Do you want to solution design a decentralised data architecture (Data Mesh) on Azure with the latest technologies for a large and international organisation? Then this is the job for you!

Design solutions on all different aspects to go towards a self-serviced decentralised data architecture (data mesh): 

• A variety of tools for onboarding, transforming and processing data, 
• apps and services on dealing and using technical and business meta data, 
• Having a reliable, scalable and easy to maintain platform on Azure, 
• Using different sourcing and consumable patterns such as Batch, API’s and Streaming capabilities

You will be working closely with the enterprise architects and the development engineers to make sure that your solution intents are in line with our enterprise architecture and can be used by our engineers to implement and deliver value to our stakeholders, Set guidelines on solutions, Use your expertise to be sparring partner for Architecture and Design considerations and investigating new technologies that come to the market. 

As an IT-architect you’ll be part of the Data & Distribution department together with 2 other architects responsible for the overall design of a decentralised data architecture used by the entire bank. Data & Distribution is part of the Data Engineering domain with 2 other departments; Data Analytics and Enterprise Data Assets. There will be topics in which you will work closely with the other departments as well.

The Data & Distribution department work in a Devops way based on prioritisation with a mindset to use innovative products and solutions to deliver the most value while ensuring scalability, reliability, security and flexibility. 

You will work on the solution architecture of the different aspects of decentralised data architecture. Looking at different sourcing and consuming patterns such as streaming, api’s and batch at a very large scale. Exploring new technologies on the cloud to be able to scale, be reliable and secure. Exploring and designing self service capabilities for data providers and consumer, tools to capture technical and business metadata, designing proper data access management and lineage. Working closely with IT engineers to make sure they can implement your solutions and aligning the solutions with the enterprise architecture.

You’ll bring this mix of expertise and experience to the team:

• Strong IT (Data) engineering background
• Experience with large scalable and reliable data platforms
• In depth knowledge of (Azure) cloud
• Deep knowledge of IT-architecture models and processes, and able to execute them.
• Experience in working in an Agile way 
• Open and proactive mindset. You‘re combing an engineering mindset with architectural vision.
• Eager and motived to continuously learn 
• Being able to communicate your solutions clearly towards stakeholders, development engineers, production owners, management and your fellow architects.
