Graduation assignment: Next Generation Driver Coaching in Eindhoven

Your first challenge will be to get a broad understanding of the data available on the DAF Connect platform and from the DAF trucks that can be used in coaching truck drivers remotely. To do so you will work closely together with our driver and driver trainers, to understand their needs and wishes. It will be your task to investigate how to translate DAF Connect data into valuable insights for driver coaching and develop key functionalities that will support the trainers in coaching truck drivers. Your challenge will be to combine the needs of the driver trainers and drivers with the (available) data and translate those into a usable tool or reporting functionality to make the coaching of drivers as efficient and effective as possible. 

Jouw profiel

For this particular assignment we are looking for (technical) university student, with a background in Data Science, Data Engineering, IT, and/or Industrial Engineering, with an affinity for the automotive industry. You are an analytical thinker, who is able to understand both the bigger picture and the small details. You can think from a user perspective, are a good listener, pro-active in overcoming challenges, and strive for the best possible results that add value for our customers and the DAF organization.
 

Afdeling

For this particular topic several DAF departments collaborate to develop the next generation driver coaching using connected data. First, DAF Academy is involved, they are responsible for creating and delivering trainings for truck drivers in various European countries. Their aim is to help drivers and transport companies reduce fuel consumption and total cost of ownership (TCO).  But also increase road safety through better usage of the DAF systems and anticipation of traffic situations . Second, DAF Connect is involved, which focuses on translating truck- and driving- related data into valuable information for fleet managers and drivers. Their goal is to create in-depth insights that can help reduce fuel consumption, increase uptime, and decrease total cost of ownership (TCO).​
