Hi-tec start-up student and participant recruitment at HTLE in Heerenveen

HTLE/Mathima Technologies is a typical start-up demanding commitment in general and dedication to detail in particular. We offer transparent communication in an open cooperative culture enabling all participants to thrive in order to establish common objectives. Interns are assumed to function independently and are allowed a high degree of freedom.

* Advanced System-On-Chip MCU Software Architecture (1/14)

This highly complex applied electronics assignment concerns research, architectural software design, testing and firmware implementation of an advanced ARM-based SOC MCU which involves the overall system control coordination for a new class state-of-the-art physical HMI control family for an innovative magnetic sensor platform. Among a broad pallet of HW & SW design constraints are:

- different types of host interfaces

- flexible connectivity

- automatic system configuration

- secure

- robust against external EMI

- efficient processing

- low EMI

For this specific assignment, we are looking for a PhD intern with a solid knowledge of ARM MCU HW and SW architecture (or the willingness to acquire this) and the ability to practically implement it. Some knowledge of (high level) embedded C programming is also advantageous.

The PhD candidate will also actively assist Mathima Technologies in coordinating all other technical sub-projects (2/14 - 11/14) assigned to Master and Bachelor interns.

* Rotary Hall Sensor Decoding Algorithms (2/14)

This complex applied electronics assignment concerns research, design, simulation, testing, rotary decoding control algorithms development and firmware implementation targeted at a new class state-of-the-art physical HMI control family for an innovative magnetic sensor platform. Among a broad pallet of HW & SW design constraints are:

- fast decoding

- accurate

- stable

- robust against external EMI

- seamless integration within strict magnetic domain scheme

For this specific assignment, we are looking for a Master or Bachelor intern with theoretical knowledge of control algorithms, physics and the ability to practically implement it. Some knowledge of the 3D FEA program ANSYS Maxwell 3D is also advantageous, just as familiarity with embedded C programming.

* Linear Hall Sensor Decoding Algorithms (3/14)

Among a broad pallet of HW & SW design constraints are:

- high data rate

For this specific assignment, we are looking for a Master or Bachelor intern with basic knowledge of ARM MCU HW and SW architecture and the ability to practically implement it. Some knowledge of electronics simulation program LT Spice is also advantageous, just as familiarity with embedded C programming.

* Wireless Power Transfer System TX Implementation (5/14)

This complex applied electronics assignment concerns (software) research, design, simulation, testing, control algorithms development, I2C TX/RX protocol development and firmware implementation of a 10 Watt wireless power transmitter for a linear permanent magnet PCB motor slider with an integrated wireless power receiver. The slider is an essential requirement for professional studio mixer consoles.

The wireless power transmitter module is part of a new class state-of-the-art physical HMI control family for an innovative magnetic sensor platform. Among a broad pallet of HW & SW design constraints are:

Some knowledge of Qt Visual Studio Tools or a similar program is also advantageous, just as familiarity with a high-level programming language such as C++ or Python, etc.

* IOT Security and Updates via internet (10/14)

This complex applied computer/electronics assignment concerns research, architectural software design, testing and software and firmware (IOT) implementation to allow secure firmware upgrades via the internet of all the embedded MCUs of a new class state-of-the-art physical HMI control family for an innovative magnetic sensor platform.

For this specific assignment, we are looking for a Master or Bachelor intern with knowledge of computer and embedded firmware programming and the ability to practically implement it. Some knowledge of (high level) embedded C programming is advantageous, just as familiarity with a high-level programming language such as C++ or Python, etc.

* Overall System EMC Certification Testing (11/14)

To confirm that the electronics hardware is likely to comply with several standards, in-house basic pre-testing of different EMC norms must be conducted, such as:

For this specific assignment, we are looking for a Master or Bachelor intern with a strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics hardware and physics.

* IP Protection & Patents Study and Implementation (14/14)

This complex business/technical assignment concerns research, development and practical implementation of a viable IP protection and patents plan for all novel aspects of a new class state-of-the-art physical HMI control family for an innovative magnetic sensor platform technology.

For this specific assignment, we are looking for a Master or Bachelor intern with a business orientation as well as knowledge of the novel technical issues involved.

Please note that HTLE is our supporting and trustworthy partner in our Mathima Technologies endeavour. In return we technically move HTLE forward with our electronics know-how. Therefore, we also offer several (not yet clearly defined) additional alternative HTLE projects / internships as well.

HTLE is pursuing the integration of state-of-the-art printed electronics and sensors with their well established and excellent quality label solutions.

HTLE will also definitely be among Mathima's first clients in providing innovative (populated) printed label substrate alternatives for backplane and module PCB(A)s and possibly also unique models of the mechanical physical controls (See: 8.
