Graduation assignment: Modelling mainframe loads in Eindhoven

At DAF many programs, services and users share a common mainframe platform. The capacity of the platform can be flexibly increased or decreased based on user needs. Currently this is done by human judgement. However we would like to have a model that predicts the future load on the platform based on historical data and several parameters. This would be a great benefit for DAF as reducing the load on a structural basis leads to an enormous reduction in cost.
 

Jouw profiel

For this assignment we are looking for a WO level student of Computer science, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent. Also fluent in Dutch and English.
 

Afdeling

PACCAR IT Europe is responsible for the development, support and management of information systems for our users in Europe for DAF Trucks, PACCAR Parts, PACCAR Financial and PacLease. Within IT Europe, more than 250 IT professionals are employed.
The software center is responsible for the development and maintenance of software and supports a mainframe (COBOL) and .NET (C#) environment.
