At ABN AMRO Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB), we’re looking for a Junior Business Risk Officer who contributes to risk awareness and operational excellence across sectors, regions and product lines within C&IB in close co-operation with the 2nd Line of Defence.

Your job

As our new Junior Business Risk Officer at C&IB, you will play a crucial role in determining the intended risk profile and the level of control of C&IB and providing insight into all risk types according to ABN AMRO's Risk Taxonomy.

You will be:

  • Conducting risk assessments

  • Overseeing and contributing to the timely and complete implementation of various bank-wide scenarios, guidelines and processes with the aim of providing organizational components with insight into their risk profile and enabling them to manage it.

  • Constantly maintaining intensive substantive contacts with (senior) management of all risk functions, finance, business lines and support departments.

Flawless cooperation with these departments is crucial in achieving the objectives. In this role it is important to be well organised, be analytical and have an eye for detail, but also know how to focus on the bigger picture. You need to be flexible and know how to prioritise and structure in an international and dynamic environment.

Working environment

Management Control & Regulations (MC&R) falls within the scope of Processes & Control, which is responsible for all first-line Operational risk & control activities and accountable for the oversight of C&IB’s full risk taxonomy and facilitates the C&IB business lines on all other non-commercial responsibilities. Processes & Control safeguards CIB’s license to operate by (i) having a firm grasp on the risk taxonomy, (ii) creating and maintaining complete and correct administration, (iii) enabling flawless business operations and (iv) offering reliable day-to-day business support.

You will work closely with the Business Risk Officer and act as a linking pin between the C&IB business and 2nd & 3rd line stakeholders. You will participate in various meeting structures and prepare and safeguard quality control for the C&IB Risk Committees & Boards.

Your profile
  • You are a team player, who preferably has knowledge of - and affinity with the Risk Control Framework of ABN AMRO Bank and relevant external and internal laws and regulations

  • You have a pro-active personality and enjoy the challenge of winning people over and encouraging change. With your great people and communication skills (verbal and in writing), you know how to approach your stakeholders, including senior management and the regulators.

  • You are self-starting and you like to work independently and to be inquisitive. You make sure that you gather the required knowledge and construct that into the needed solution or requirements.

  • You like to build on collaboration, continuous improvement and you are pragmatic and result-oriented

  • You are able to accompany changes while keeping attention to content, process and relationship

  • You dare to be critical and challenge your colleagues within and outside C&IB about the conduct of their risk control policy and implementation

  • You are fluent in English  (we offer support to employees with reading disabilities such as dyslexia).

We are offering

For this role, we offer a market base salary based on a 36-40 hour workweek (also flexible and / or part-time work). The salary will be based on experience and we highly encourage equal pay f/m.
