LeasePlan Corporation N.V (group headquarters) is looking for a Corporate Communications Intern for the fall of 2014, with a focus on online communications.  Are you ‘digitally savvy’? Do you enjoy writing for a number of different target audiences? Can you switch quickly between tasks and still maintain oversight? Are you interested in online communications issues that involve areas of IT?  Do you want to gain experience working on large, international projects? If so, you may be the right student intern for our team. Corporate Communications ensures that our global corporate website contains the right information, so that the many interested parties worldwide are kept up-to-date on the activities of Leaseplan Corporation. You will also see to it that the global intranet is well structured and that it invites our colleagues to read it. Both platforms will move to a different platform in the near future and you can become a part of (one of) these projects!

The Corporate Communications team is an efficient and small team (4 employees) that oversees media relations, crisis and reputation management, social media and internal communications for LeasePlan worldwide. It is the mission of the Corporate Communications Department to optimise corporate communications to overall stakeholders to proactively enhance and carry out LeasePlan’s mission and strategy. The department helps align LeasePlan Corporation and its entities in their shared communications needs by using an integrated approach based on interaction, dialogue and reaction.

Description of student intern’s duties
During your internship in the Corporate Communications Department you will have the opportunity to gain experience in different areas of this department. You are a full, all-round member of the team and can be assigned to diverse online communications projects and activities.

Your day-to-day duties for our team are as follows:

  • Write articles for the Intranet in order to provide information to all employees (language of business operations: English);
  • Publish news articles and other content on our corporate website (language of business operations: English);
  • Maintain regular contact with colleagues from other departments and fulfil the role of ‘news collector’, just like your colleagues;
  • Provide ideas and input about web content;
  • Participate in cross-functional and international projects concerning online communications matters;
  • Possibility to also participate in offline work.

You will be mentored by the digital communications manager during your internship.

Any final project for graduation is negotiable; however, most of your project work will have to occur after hours. Of course, we will cooperate with you where possible.

We are searching for
An enthusiastic, practical and inquisitive student intern with a fresh perspective. The ability to work independently is required. Besides your theoretical knowledge, you have great social skills and a keen sense for relationships. You are following a course of study in communications and/or media at an HBO or WO. Excellent command of oral and written English (and of course Dutch) is required, along with experience or interest in maintaining (internal and external) websites and online communications matters. You are available to work at least 4 days a week for a period of 3 months. You will work in Almere, next to the train station Almere CS.

We offer
A fulltime student internship with varied duties in an international organisation. Internship pay of € 500 gross per month based on a full-time work week (38.75 hours).
